Hello, my name is Stephanie Abrishamchi.

The Start: I began modelling at age 13, and quickly became used to the ins and outs behind the scenes and in front of the camera. While that might imply I learned from an early age of the importance of taking good care of my skin, I could often be found fast asleep after a long day shooting still with my makeup on (I know, I cringe as I type this). My beauty cabinet was filled to the brim with products (raise your hand if you are also a magpie in beauty departments!) but I still found my skincare routine complacent and difficult to maintain through my teens and early twenties. A few years after I’d gotten married though, changed all that….

Mouse: It all started with the largest zit I had ever had in my life, we're talking a flaming red malteeser on my chin! One week later I discovered my darling daughter (who I call Mouse) made herself at home in my tummy. Thank you hormones for telling my face I was pregnant before I even knew!

During my pregnancy I experienced a slew of skin troubles that led me to try every last skincare product and facial treatment I could get my hands on. From hyperpigmentation to rosacea, I realized that your skin is a direct reflection of what is going on inside and ultimately I wanted my skin to naturally glow…see where I’m going with this? My skin during my pregnancy made me want to chase my glow which inspired the ‘glow getter’ piece of my blog name.

The ‘conscious’ part of my blog name actually stemmed from my mum. She had been watching various health videos when she stumbled across one about the hidden ingredients in skincare products. Off she went to my bathroom in what ended up being a massive overhaul. Over half of my and my daughter’s products had ingredients on the list she had learned about. Even products that said ‘organic’! I realized as a busy mum myself, I had trusted the brands had done the work for me and only offered consciously chosen products with quality ingredients. Not the case!

In my quest to learn more about the beauty industry while lending my background in modelling and beauty expertise, I became a co-founder of an aspiring beauty tech retailer. Eventually I left that company to work on even more exciting ventures of my own to come that I cannot wait to share with you!

My goal is to bring some realness to a world of filter and fight for perfection, many of my images are professional but I will continue to post images no filter, real images of my skin and concerns.

Lets work together, brands, advocates, stores, manufacturers to bring change to the beauty industry, how we define beauty, lets celebrate flaws, the transparency of ingredients and products and create a community that looks to the future and how we can help our environment.
